At
the far end of the Laganas
bay, the relaxing resort of Kalamaki
is built to the beachside of the small
community, just 7 km south of the island's
capital. Kalamaki is an extension of
Laganas beach, with golden sand and
crystal clear waters. The beach is sandy
and gently shelving and offers protection
to the endangered loggerhead turtles.
The sandy beach attracts a multitude
of tourists during the summer, making
this popular and one of the biggest
holiday spot in Zante
Zakynthos island.
